Archives & Media Update

December 25, 2022 — Phil Jordan, who was connected with Steamtown. U.S.A. in its later period in Vermont, reached out recently. Phil writes: “I was quite familiar with Steamtown in its later years (as a traveling salesman for a photo lab selling Kodak film and VT-based film processing, I met my wife, Edie, at Steamtown in 1981; she was the gift shop manager, reporting to noted rail photographer and Steamtown’s general manager Donald Ball Jr.).

Phil, who is in the process of scanning much of his railroad material, has graciously offered to provide scanned copies of his and Edie’s materials to be hosted in the Media Gallery and Archives. Materials posted so far include:

Railroad Documents:

– 1983 (‘Early-bird’ opening season timetable

– Public Relations Handout from the Don Ball Jr. era

– Steamtown Railfan’s Weekend 1981 – Crew Instructions

– Timetable Cover – 1981

– Vermont Valley Railroad Timetable – 1983

– Edith G. Wilson (Jordan) Business Card

Media Gallery (Post-1967)

– Photos from circa 1980-1983

Many thanks to Phil and Edie for these and future contributions!
